作為與城市關係密切的開放式校園，如何讓使用者在恣意探索校園的同時，也能體驗該場所蘊含的空間特質與精神？成功大學擁有眾多學術單位且分佈多個校區，校園路徑與城市街道交織，古蹟與綠地也相當融入市民生活、吸引旅客駐足，環境資訊複雜度高且服務對象多元，需要的是一套有完整架構、應用適當空間編碼系統、同時滿足功能及敘事性的指標系統。
Deeply intertwined with the city, this campus presents a delicate challenge – how can we empower free exploration while also allowing visitors to fully absorb the spatial character and inherent spirit of the space? National Cheng Kung University comprises numerous academic clusters dispersed across multiple campuses, where the campus paths merge with the urban fabric. Historic landmarks and greenery are woven into the daily lives of locals, as well as drawing in various visitors. The complex and diverse environment necessitates a comprehensive wayfinding system – one that utilizes thoughtful spatial coding and fulfill both functional and narrative needs at the same time.

成功大學校園指標系統，涵蓋不同標示類型以回應各類使用者在校園邊界、校區入口、及各式路徑中，甚至在湖畔休憩或古蹟巡禮時，都能適時、適地、適型地滿足資訊需求。
The wayfinding system of National Cheng Kung University encompasses a variety of sign types to cater to the diverse needs of users, whether they are navigating around the campus boundaries, entering each campus, traversing various pathways, or enjoying a walk through the greenery and historic sites.
設計概念來自於此校園的空間特質：古時城門、日軍營舍的圓拱型開口，化作基本造型元素再現歷史與人文；而運用黃金比例的紀念校門及其他現代主義時期的建築，也成為靈感來源，注入理工科學的理性意味；圓拱與方拱、穿透與框景，不同的標示類型在校園中不同角落，以各自姿態回應著所處環境。
The design concept draws inspiration from the campus' spatial characters. The iconic arched openings of historic city gates and former Japanese military quarters serve as the foundational design elements, evoking a tangible sense of history and culture. Meanwhile, the golden ratio-based memorial gate and other modernist architectural touchstones inject a rational, scientific sensibility. The arched and the rectangular, the transparent and the framed – the diverse sign types respond to their respective environments with their unique expressions.
